A Montgomery County couple faces charges that they helped a convicted robber escape from a Fort Worth lockup for parole violators.
Forty-five-year-old Jacqueline Diaz Chavez is the sister of escapee Eladio Diaz Junior.
She and her husband, 39-year-old Jose Chavez, were arrested today at their home in Porter and charged with hindering apprehension. Each is held on five-thousand dollars bond.
Prison officials say 46-year-old Eladio Diaz Junior remains at large. He was last seen Sunday night at the North Texas Intermediate
Authorities believe Diaz is in the Houston or Dallas-Fort Worth areas. Diaz was convicted of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in Nueces County, began serving his 25-year prison sentence in 1991 and was paroled in 2003.
Diaz was arrested in November, charged with making a terroristic threat and his parole was revoked.
