A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH has been issued for Leon, Milam, and Robertson Counties until 1:00 am Sunday morning. A line of rain and thunderstorms will be possible between sunset and midnight -- moving in from the north & west. Some storms could be strong to severe. If these storms can reach the area, they could pose a localized flooding & damaging wind threat.
The City of Bryan will be checking for leaks in sanitation sewer systems starting Thursday.
City crews will be walking nearly 38,000 feet of sewer lines bordering Esther Boulevard, Carter Creek Parkway, East 29th Street and Briarcrest Drive, checking manholes for proper installation and releasing white smoke to find leaks.
Officials say residents may see white smoke coming from the ground over the next three weeks, but they should not be alarmed. The smoke is harmless and shows where repairs are needed.
If residents have any questions they can contact John Hatchel at 979-209-5900.
