Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, across the Brazos Valley, Saturday afternoon and evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
Residents along one Brazos County road can expect delays for some time starting Monday.
Work crews will begin a full repaving project on F.M. 1687 from Britten Road to OSR.
The work means one lane of 1687 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on most days. And even when the road isn't closed, you can expect portions to be unpaved.
A pilot car will be in place to guide drivers, but authorities are asking you to find an alternate route to avoid delays.
The work project will last an estimated four months.
