One city council race in College Station is set for this coming May.

Tuesday, Texas A&M professor John Crompton has become the third person to seek the remaining one-year for Place 1. Crompton may be best known for having recently had a park in the city named after him.

He joins Place 2 Councilmember John Happ in running for the Place 1 seat. Happ also serves as the director out at Easterwood Airport.

The third man in the mix is Robert Miksch, who owns Aggieland Automotive.

The current holder of the Place 1 seat, Ben White, is running for mayor.

Filing for the majority of the races in Bryan and College Station concludes March 13.
