A sizeable piece of land purchased for a Brenham area landfill may soon find some new owners.
Officials in Brenham are expected Thursday to ask the city council to consider using a realtor to help sell the large tract of land.
The decision was made early last year because it was never used for a landfill because of high costs and resident opposition.
Brenham City Manager Terry Roberts is expected to ask for the outside assistance.
Roberts plans to recommend breaking the property into several smaller lots to make the land more affordable for potential buyers.
