Getting a sewer system was one of the main reasons Bedias residents voted to become a city in 2003. Now the city is getting close to accomplishing that goal thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Bedias has been approved for a $2.6 million grant from the USDA's Rural Development office. The money will be used to build the city's first wastewater collection and treatment plant.
