LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Police in Lubbock say a woman posing as a medical worker kidnapped a three-day-old infant from a hospital early Saturday.
Mychael Darthard, a female, was last seen at 1:20 a.m. at Covenant Lakeside Hospital.
That's when police say a woman wearing blue and flower print hospital scrubs and a gray hooded jacket took her and drove off in a pickup truck.
Hospital surveillance video shows the woman with the jacket hood pulled around her head and holding a purse as she walked through the lobby.
Police said the baby was jaundiced and add that the woman may have had a male accomplice.
Police describe the alleged abductor as a black woman with a light complexion and short, dark hair. She is believed to be in her early 20s.
Police have asked anyone with any information to call (806) 775-2788.
