A Thorndale police officer was released from the hospital today and is expected to make a full recovery.
The officer was injured late Friday when he was involved in a traffic accident while pursuing two drag racers.
He was on FM 486 when he crossed U.S. 79 and collided with another vehicle.
Authorities say the officer will spend several weeks in a neck brace after suffering a cracked vertebra, but will otherwise be fine.
The other driver was not injured.
As for the drag racers, police say the search continues. Arrests are pending.
