The Texas A&M men's basketball team has left for Kentucky.
Tuesday afternoon the team departed from Easterwood Airport, for round one of the NCAA tournament.
It's the first time in school history the team has made the tournament two years in a row.
Thursday they will square off in Lexington against Penn, the Ivy League champion.
Several fans turned out to bid farewell and wish the men good luck before the big game.
"It's been a long time since they've been there and I'd love to see them bring it back," Aggie basketball fan Billy Chambers said.
Chambers was there Tuesday afternoon when the team left for the Big Dance.
"It's a big thing for the kids, so we come out and support them," Chambers said.
The long-time fan is a season ticket holder, he's there for every home game, and cloudy weather did not keep him away from the send-off.
"I'm an old chip off the block," Chambers said. "I love to play basketball and I love to see it."
And even though he won't be in Kentucky, Chambers says he'll be at home cheering loudly for the maroon and white.
The Aggies and Quakers will hit the floor 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Louisville-Stanford game, which tips off at 11:40 a.m. Thursday.
You can see the game live on KBTX.
