Prosecutors from Attorney General Greg Abbott's office will be on hand today when a Texas Youth Commission abuse case goes before a Ward County grand jury.
A 2005 Texas Rangers report on alleged abuses by two TYC employees has grown into a statewide scandal.
Some legislators have accused District Attorney Randall W. Reynolds of ignoring the report outlining the allegations against two administrators at the West Texas State School in Pyote.
There have been numerous TYC Commission resignations this month, including two high-ranking officials yesterday and the entire board on Friday.
The two administrators at the West Texas State School have resigned, but haven't been charged with a crime.
Reynolds has said a breakdown in communications caused the nearly two-year delay in progress on the case in his territory. Now the AG's office has stepped in.
