The state Republican Party wants taxpayers to keep more of their money. Wednesday afternoon, the chairman of the Texas State Republican Party made a visit to the Brazos Valley to deliver that message.
Tina Benkiser is traveling across Texas to raise awareness about taxpayer protection legislation. She says there are a number of bills pending in the current session that affects all taxpayers.
She says the Republican Party of Texas is concerned about rising taxes in Texas that is driving some out of their homes. Benkiser adds that needs to stop, and it can if voters know there are bills being considered in the state legislation that can help.
"They should have a voice in how their government spends its money," Benkiser said. "So much of the legislation is designed to bring the voter into the process."
Benkiser is urging voters to tell their state representatives and senators to support taxpayer protection legislation.
