An overnight accident in College Station led authorities to shut off water in the area, but only for a short time.
Police say they responded to an accident at Texas Avenue and Francis early Monday morning. A van reportedly swerved off the road and struck a fire hydrant, discharging a large amount of water onto the roadway.
Officials with the City of College Station say the water was turned off for about 11 minutes while the lines were repaired. Mostly businesses were affected.
There were no reported injuries and the accident is still under investigation.
