BRYAN -- 12th Man Foundation Executive Director Miles Marks announced in his weekly 12th Man Newsletter that Texas A&M men's head basketball coach Billy Gillispie has reaffirmed his commitment to the University's basketball program. It's the first official word we have received following 4 days of speculation on Gillispie's future at A&M.
"Billy Gillispie reaffirmed his commitment today to coach our basketball program in the face of serious interest from other major programs around the country," said Marks.
The Texas A&M University Board of Regents were suppose to discuss Gillispie's current contract during today's executive session, but there's no word on what was decided.
There has also been no announcement from Gillispie or from the A&M Athletic Department on the restructuring of the Coach's contract that is rumored to be as much as a 2 million dollar a year deal running through 2012.
