Low-income moms in Hearne now have a place to go. Friday was the grand opening of the Hearne WIC Clinic.
The clinic will serve low-income women, infants and children in the Hearne community.
Staff members on Friday gave tours of the facility and explained what WIC offers.
WIC is a USDA funded food and nutrition program for women, infants and children under the age of five who are low-income and at nutrition risk.
"We are thrilled to be able to serve the Hearne community," said WIC Clerk, Gloria Salazar. "We are committed to helping our clients and are thrilled to be in our new location so we can better assist the women, infants and children of Hearne."
BVCAA, Inc. WIC Director, Kay Jarrett, added, "The services provided by WIC are invaluable to the healthy development of our children. Each day, we are able to positively impact the lives of local families and we are honored to be able to make a difference in the Hearne community."
