Iranian Protestors Hurl Rocks, Firecrackers at British Embassy

TEHRAN, Iran -- Protesters have gathered outside the British Embassy in Iran.

About 200 students threw rocks and firecrackers at the embassy. They chanted "den of spies" and called for the expulsion of Britain's ambassador.

Police kept the protesters from entering the embassy compound. A few briefly scaled a fence outside the compound's walls but were pushed back.

Britain and Iran are in a standoff over 15 British sailors and marines seized by Iran. Iran contends they entered its waters illegally. Britain says they were in Iraqi waters.
