Suddenlink Media employees gathered together Saturday to fire up the grill and help a friend in need.
Co-workers of Ace Brooks held a barbeque at the Tabor Arena Hall in Bryan to help medical expenses. Brooks is suffering from heart-related problems and throat cancer.
"Ace is just a caring individual," said Mike Alexander, a co-worker of Brooks'. "He's constantly giving to others, and he has a very giving spirit. Therefore, when he ran into some trouble, we just wanted to do what we can to help."
Organizers hope to raise $10,000 for the commercial producer.
