A former Blinn College nursing student's memory continues to live on in an annual event.
Kristen Reed, a 2002 nursing school graduate of Blinn, died of a form of cancer called Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
For the past several years, the Blinn College Vocational Nursing Students Association and the Scott & White Marrow Donor Program have teamed up to sponsor a bone marrow registration drive in Reed's honor.
The fifth annual Kristen Reed Bone Marrow Registration Drive will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Blinn College Bryan Campus in room 131 of the Health Building.
Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 60 and in good health.
For more information on the event, contact the Blinn Vocational Nursing Program at (979) 209-7510. Those looking for more information on the National Marrow Donor Program can contact the Scott & White Marrow Donor Program at (888) 724-2811.
