The investigation continues into the death of two inmates held in two different counties.
Brazos County Sheriff officials said Wednesday they are one step closer to figuring out how Brazos County inmate Terry Lee Davis died.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate Davis died from an infection due to a stomach ulcer. The inmate, who was from Somerville, was awaiting trial for aggravated robbery.
The sheriff's office and the Texas Rangers are still investigating. Toxicology and final autopsy results are pending.
Grimes County officials continue to investigate the mysterious death of one of their own inmates.
Larry Key Jr. was found unconscious Monday. The 38-year-old was serving time for two counts of indecency with a child.
Sheriff officials say they are waiting on medical records to be sent to Conroe where the the autopsy is being done.
The Texas Rangers are investigating this death as well.
