Somerville Yegua Band Advances to Finals at State Marching Contest
The Somerville High School Yegua Marching Band has advanced to the finals in the UIL Class 1A State Marching Band Contest.

The Somerville High School Yegua Marching Band has advanced to the finals in the UIL Class 1A State Marching Band Contest.
Under the direction of Band Director, Carl Idlebird, Somerville's High School Band has advanced to the Area 1A Marching Band Contest every year since 1995 but, this is the first time the band is competing for a chance at being number one in the state.
Monday morning there were a total of 16 bands in the preliminary competition and now the Yegua Band is one of seven Class 1A bands competing to become state champs.
The band marches next at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
