Currently, TxDOT's contractor is reducing the northbound lanes from two lanes to one lane in order to continue work on the widening to the Campbells Creek Bridge on SH 6.

This is just north of OSR in Robertson County and the speed limit has been reduced to 60mph through this construction area. These conditions will stay this way for approximately two months.

These speed and lane reduction on SH 6 are part of the $2.5 million dollar Campbells Creek Bridge widening project contracted to A.L. Helmcamp, Inc., out of Buffalo, Texas. This entire project is expected to be complete summer of 2010.

TxDOT and A.L. Helmcamp appreciate driver's patience and encourage everyone to be attentive to traffic control in the area during this much need widening project.

Yes people, obey the speed limit! That means actually going the speed limit, not slower and not faster. The speed limit is 70. If you want to go 55, take the frontage road. Going slower is just as much of a risk as going faster and it's just as frustrating for the people around you. So yes people, please do obey the speed limit whether it be going faster or slowing down.

I know, we can install speed limit cameras. That will stop them.

People get mad at "us" for going a little slower than the speed limit but doesn't anyone know how to read? The sign says speed LIMIT. That DOES mean however that driving faster than that increases accident rates by alarming amounts. People who drive too fast are just selfish. Not thinking of other lives at all. I wish they would get stopped too. Too bad cops probably catch a small handful of the thousands (millions) that fly by us.
