Working out for senior citizens is now as easy as taking a walk through the park.
Officials welcomed the new Life Trails Fitness Stations to College Station's Central Park. The new equipment was welcomed into the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon.
The program offers fitness areas throughout the park geared towards the needs of adults 50 years of age and older.
"We thought this was a perfect way to get our seniors in shape," said Marci Rodgers, a senior services coordinator with the City of College Station. "Those who enjoy walking will have the added benefit of enjoying the fitness stations where they can work out, stretch, work upper and lower body and muscles."
The 10 new fitness stations cost about $43,000. Along with exercise stations, health advice in also posted.
