Scott and White Hospital in Temple has been one of the focal points of the Fort Hood shootings. But despite all the coverage its received, what you may not know is how desperately blood is still needed there.
To answer the call, a blood drive is going on through Friday at the Texas A&M campus. It's open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. outside Sbisa Dining Hall and no appointments are needed, but donors are.
"They need people," said Sarena Chism, Texas A&M Freshman. "For me to be able to help them, I feel better because I know that I contributed to somebody getting better in life."
Another student said the Fort Hood shootings definitely influenced his decision to donate. "When I saw it in the Batt today that it was for Fort Hood, that was like 'Hey, go give blood.' I've got free time, why not do it," said Lucas Turner, Texas A&M Sophomore
Giving blood takes about 45 minutes. You must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 lbs.

I hope a lot of people are able to provide blood, because there is always a need. BUT, I also hope you can designate that blood donated DOES NOT go to the terrorist that caused so much pain! I would hate to think American blood helped him (I know he's already gone to SA, but still, to make the point!)
