*Update* Road Reopened-Tuesday morning at approximately 9:00 AM, the College Station Police Department, with the assistance of TxDot, will close the inside lane of Highway 47 where it crosses under Raymond Stotzer Parkway.
The roadway will be partially closed so that investigators can reconstruct the fatality accident that occurred Sunday evening.
While one lane will remain open, we are asking motorists to seek alternate routes of travel if possible. If motorists must travel through the reconstruction area, we request that they do so with extreme caution.
Please watch for emergency service personnel as they gather information for the investigation. The closure should last approximately three hours. For questions please contact the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.

Tammy, have you ever assisted with a wreck at this location?
I agree; that underpass needs to be posted at 55. And a cop needs to be stationed there every Sunday from about 3 to 10 pm. I know that all the Ags who get caught after they keep hitting it at 70 75 like they do now will scream about it being just about the money, but I'd rather see them in Drivers Ed than have to call their name at Muster...
I've seen many accidents there after a rain. You can count on it. And that same pole gets hit every time.
