This year, the annual event will be expanded to include, not only the unveiling of this year’s names on the Wall of Honor, but docent tours of the Lynn Stuart Pathway dedicated to the veterans of U.S. wars since 1775.
The Museum of the American G.I. will host a WWII vehicle display and the Gen. George S. Patton Headquarters Field Command Van at the event.
Schedule of Events:
- 4 p.m. Docent tours of the Lynn Stuart Pathway
- 5 p.m. Unveiling of the veterans names at the Louis L. Adam Memorial Plaza
- 6 p.m. Veterans Day Ceremony at the American Pavilion
- 7 p.m. BBQ Dinner at the American Pavilion
Tickets for the BBQ Dinner are $8 and will be available at the College Station Conference Center, 1300 George Bush Drive or from members of the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board. Tickets are available NOW!
The Lynn Stuart Pathway is a 2/3 mile walking path that, when completed, will feature granite markers, historical interpretive panels, benches and statues of individual soldiers in period uniforms for each of the 17 wars including the War for Texas Independence. Each setting will be made possible by donations from the community. The Museum of the American G.I. is a non-profit military living history museum located south of College Station on Hwy. 6. They host annual events including WWII battle reenactments. Current restoration projects include the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2. Website: www.magicstx.org.

So I have to pay $8 to eat? I did 26months in Iraq. I'll come, but I'm not gonna eat.
I can't say enough about the comments by Anne and Tom M. Both should be read carefully and thoughtfully. The definition posted by Tom M. is one of the most accurate I have heard. Anne is certainly correct in her statement that we need to honor all those who served, and especially those whose checks were paid in full.
THANK YOU KBTX for posting the information about the Veterans Day ceremonies and events! I have heard folks say that the annual event at Veterans Park is one of the most patriotic and honorable Veterans Day events they have attended. Over 500 attended last year in spite of the cold front and rain. This year we have ordered spectacular weather. Please help us honor our veterans from years past and currently serving. We need them now more than ever! God bless them all!
