A&M's Parents Weekend Gets Underway

Thousands of moms and dads have descended on the Texas A&M campus.

Dozens of events for students and their parents will be held for Parents Weekend. The Aggie Mom's Boutique kicks off the weekend Aggie experience.

Other events include the Bevo Burn Barbecue and Midnight Yell, and of course, there is the annual Maroon and White football game on Saturday at Kyle Field at 2 p.m.

Parents Weekend Schedule -- Saturday, April 14

8 to 9:15 a.m., Cain Park – Photo Opportunity With Reveille near the pond at the park

9 a.m., Rudder Fountain – Parent’s Weekend Silent Auction to benefit Replant

9:30 to 11 a.m., G. Rollie White – Football team autograph session

10 a.m. to noon – Open House at the home of Vice President for Student Affairs Dean Bresciani

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Zone at Kyle Field – Whoopstock Unity Festival with food, games and entertainment

11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Duncan Dining Hall – Annual “Bevo Burn Barbecue”

2 p.m., Kyle Field – Maroon and White Football Game.

9:30 a.m., Rudder Auditorium – All-University Awards Ceremony. Numerous student awards – including the Buck Weirus Spirit Award honoring students who have made a significant contribution to student programs – will be presented and the Aggie Parents of the Year for 2007 will be named.

12:30 p.m., Kyle Field – A review by the Corps of Cadets Ross Volunteers

1:15 p.m., Kyle Field – performance of the Fish Drill Team
