A cold front will approach the Brazos Valley later today. Isolated areas of rain and thunderstorms could develop along and ahead of that front between mid-afternoon and early evening. Good news: rain & storm activity will be quick moving (1 hour or less). Bad news: a few severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong, damaging winds being the main concern. A brief, isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out, as well.
A super sweet treat was served up for an even sweeter cause.
On Saturday, the Great American Cookie Company and Post Oak Mall presented what they say was the largest chocolate chip cookie to be made in the Brazos Valley.
It measured 13 feet by 16 feet.
Post Oak Mall and March of Dimes volunteers had the job of cutting the giant cookie.
Slices were sold for just $1 and all proceeds went to the March of Dimes, Walk America.
Area businesses contributed to the cost of the cookie.
