Starting next fall, it will cost you more to attend Sam Houston State University.
An across the board tuition hike of $8 per semester hour was approved by the Texas State University System Board of Regents. That means in-state Bearkat students will now pay $163 per hour while out-of-state students will pay $440 per credit hour.
The university says the increase is needed for personnel salaries and benefits not funded by student fees.
The new rates go into effect in the fall of 20-10.
