A cold front will approach the Brazos Valley later today. Isolated areas of rain and thunderstorms could develop along and ahead of that front between mid-afternoon and early evening. Good news: rain & storm activity will be quick moving (1 hour or less). Bad news: a few severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong, damaging winds being the main concern. A brief, isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out, as well.
Aggies and Longhorns have come together for a very special cause.
In the wake of the Virginia Tech tragedy students at both schools are hosting a T-shirt sale with 100% of the proceeds going to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
T-shirts will be on sale starting Monday at the MSC Box Office through May 2nd.
The shirts are $5 in person and $10 online.
Organizers say the rival schools have pulled together to make the event happen.
"We both care a lot about our schools, and both of us have been through very terrible tragedies," said Texas A&M Student Andria Groover. "Aggies had Bonfire, and UT had a similar tragedy several years back. Now we're able to say we're more than rivalries we're great schools of the state of Texas and we have something bigger than ourselves."
