Brenham smokers will now have fewer places to light up.

The city council voted last week in favor of an ordinance that would prohibit smoking in all public places, including restaurants.

However, there are several exemptions to the ordinance.
Smoking will be allowed in bars, hotel and motel rooms designated for smoking, and employee-only areas of manufacturing and industrial facilities.
