Texas A&M football players will take the field Thanksgiving Day against the University of Texas with Bonfire on their minds, and their helmets.
Monday, the athletics department unveiled special helmets marking the tenth anniversary of the collapse of the Bonfire stack. It features a ribbon intertwined with the "T" in the Block aTm logo. That ribbon has "1999-2009" on it.
Along with the tenth anniversary of the collapse, it has been ten years since what many believe is the greatest game in Aggie football history, a 20-16 win for the then-#24 Aggies over then-fifth-ranked Texas at Kyle Field. The game came eight days after the collapse of the stack, which left 12 Aggies dead and 27 others injured.
This won't be the first time a special helmet will be worn by the Ags this season. In two previous games, they've donned white helmets, a first since the 1970s. Texas A&M lost both games.

Probably would show better with the white helmets, but I don't want to see those ever again! Why can't we wear the same home&road uniforms all the time - like Texas?
I love the decal..Gig 'Em Ags! BTHO TU Thursday!
No tuition increase. Satate funds cannot be used for athletics, so far as I know.
