An overwhelming amount of support for Bryan Police Sergeant Donnie Manry was displayed by the Brazos Valley and beyond.
Among those in attendance were Police Chief of Spring ISD, Alan Bragg, and two officers. The three flew in for the Bar-B-Que benefit at Bryan High School.
"Well we heard about the benefit and we heard about the officer's situation and we wanted to do something a little more than sending a card," Bragg said.
Despite a last minute location change, hundreds attended the lunch and even bid on several auction items. One item included a helicopter tour of Bryan-College Station. Anything's Possible Aviation pilot, David Lewis, teamed up with Bragg to offer the skyline tour to help raise money.
Manry, who contracted the West Nile Virus last summer, said he is humbled by the outpouring of support he and his family has received.
"We are so greatful," Manry said. "Thank you is just no where near enough to describe how we feel."
The benefit wrapped up Saturday evening.
