A decade of community and self improvement was marked Monday by a special event. Faculty and students gathered at the Bryan High Auditorium to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Bryan ISD Service-Learning Program.
The program serves as a launching pad for students to participate in community service, sharpen their social skills, and to become effective leaders. Although it began small, with only one teacher, it has evolved to more than 100 teachers each year. Last year, more than 10,000 service hours were completed by BISD students.
The Service-Learning Youth Action Board recognized those who have made an impact with Certificates of Appreciation.
