Bryan ISD's Loss, Area Ranchers Gain

If anything needed to be known about any of the Bryan ISD facilities, you'd likely ask Mike Kristynik first. During his 27 years of service to the district, Kristynik developed an extensive knowledge about all things in BISD.

Currently, Kristynik serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Support Services. But, his career with BISD started at Bryan High. In the beginning, Kristynik was a high school vocational teacher. He also taught at Stephen F. Austin.

A rancher at heart and by trade, in retirement Kristynik plans to work his property in Kurten.

He will also continue his involvement with the Producers Co-op board.

Kristynik's retirement celebration Tuesday reflected his love for ranching. Everything was decked out in John Deere green.

During the celebration at Travis Education Support Center, the district also presented Kristynik with a book of letters from friends, family and co-workers.
