A new award gave a new honor to a local organization set on empowering others in the Brazos Valley.

Members of the Brazos Valley Community Action Agency awarded Project Unity with the 2007 Community Action Partner of the Year Award.

The honor was initiated this year to commemorate the BVCAA's 35th anniversary.

The award is given to those who strive to better the lives of those in the Brazos Valley, through funding, volunteering, or program support and development.
