A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to four life prison terms after being found guilty last month on three counts of intoxication manslaughter in a traffic accident.
Jorge Ivan Arellano was sentenced yesterday in state district court in Brownsville. The judge says the sentences are to run consecutively.
In March 2006, Arellano ran a stop sign, hitting a Ford Mustang. The three people killed in the Mustang were: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Cynthia Hernandez Carreon; her husband, Jorge Carreon; and Mario Gonzalez, a U.S. Border Patrol agent and family friend.
