One-hundred area youngsters took a trip to the garden to gather fresh vegetables for a good cause.

Students from the Rock Prairie Elementary School harvested their "Cabbage Corner Garden" to donate to the First Baptist Church food pantry.

Monday morning, the children were able to gather an impressive 125 pounds worth of potatoes, turnips, carrots and beans, bringing their grand total up to 500 pounds so far for the year.

Last year, the students were able to collect a record 1,000 pounds and are hoping to top that record before the year's end.
