Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, across the Brazos Valley, Saturday afternoon and evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
One-hundred area youngsters took a trip to the garden to gather fresh vegetables for a good cause.
Students from the Rock Prairie Elementary School harvested their "Cabbage Corner Garden" to donate to the First Baptist Church food pantry.
Monday morning, the children were able to gather an impressive 125 pounds worth of potatoes, turnips, carrots and beans, bringing their grand total up to 500 pounds so far for the year.
Last year, the students were able to collect a record 1,000 pounds and are hoping to top that record before the year's end.
