TAKS Doesn't Stop Students From Wearing Cap and Gown

Bryan High School students who did not pass the TAKS test still got to wear their cap and gown and walk stage.

The Bryan Parents Coalition organized a commissioning exercise at the Lincoln Center for those students who have completed the required credits, but did not pass the TAKS test.

Coalition members said the goal of the exercise was to keep the students encouraged and proud of their high school career.

BISD policy states that students cannot walk at formal ceremonies unless they have passed the TAKS.

Some students will be able to retake portions of the TAKS test in July.
