Despite the rain, the town of Richards observed a historic milestone, as residents celebrated the town's 100th birthday.
The town of Richards was established back in 1907 thanks in large part to the railroad.
Richards Civic Club member Sandra Tuckers says the entire town came together and pitched in to make the centennial birthday memorable.
"People just donated things. They donated time, they donated money," Tucker said, "so everything that was done was from individuals who said, you know, we wanted to do this and we wanted to see something done."
All the money raised at Saturday's celebration will be used to make next year's Founder's Day bigger and better.
