A Cameron driver escaped serious injury Friday night when she swerved off FM 486 and into the Little River. Sheriff officials say Magory Gonzales was travelling north when she struck a guard rail and rolled her vehicle into the river.
Officials say the car was swept down river with Gonzales still inside. She was able to escape the sinking vehicle through a window and managed to swim to the bank to safety.
Gonzales sustained non-life threatening injuries from the accident and was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Her condition was unknown Sunday evening.
