A former long-time Blinn College Dean has passed away.
J.B. Carrington, 81, loss his long battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, early Wednesday morning.
Carrington led in several academic positions in the Brazos Valley, including as Head Master at Allen Academy in Bryan in the 1960s, Dean of Men at Blinn College in Brenham in 1972, and finally, the Bryan/College Station Blinn Campus as dean in 1978.
Carrington held the dean position at the Bryan campus until 1991.
Officials with the college say he continued to be involved at the school until 2005.
Visitation for Carrington will be held Friday evening at the Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan from 5p.m. to 8p.m.
Services will be conducted Saturday, June 2, at First United Methodist Church of Bryan at 10 a.m. Burial services will follow at the Bryan Cemetery.
