A 66-year-old Corpus Christi dance studio owner has been sentenced to three 99-year prison terms for child sexual assault.
The three terms will run concurrently for Ricardo Villa, owner of Ballet Nacional Dance Center. He won't be eligible for parole until he has served at least 30 years.
Villa was sentenced yesterday for his conviction on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
He was accused of molesting a male dance student in 1994, when the boy was under the age of 14.
Two previous trials accusing Villa of similar incidents ended with deadlocked juries.
Defense attorney Kenneth Botary sought to undermine the accuser's credibility during the testimony phase of the trial. Yesterday, he said Villa had suffered enough and urged jurors to select probation.
