A College Station man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a house and trying to haul stolen goods away in a suitcase.

College Station police say Emmitt Monroe Junior, 38, was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 1000 block of Welch Street.

Police say they saw Monroe leave a house carrying the suitcase.
When officers confronted him, Monroe allegedly dropped the luggage and ran. Police say they eventually caught up with him.

Monroe has been charged with burglary of a habitation, evading arrest and possession of marijuana.

The suitcase was recovered and inside officers found a piggy bank containing a little over $7 in change, a CD player and speakers, stereo cables and a compact disc.
