What started as a possible suicide has turned into a likely murder investigation for Bryan police.
Officers were called to the 3500 block of Oak Hollow Drive shortly after midnight Monday. There they found the body of Ettie Jean Westbrook, 68.
Police at first thought the case might be an accident or suicide. But inconsistencies at the scene led investigators to suspect murder.
Westbrook's body was sent away for an autopsy. Preliminary results indicate her death could have been a homicide or accidental. Full results may not be learned for two weeks.
Bryan detectives say they are treating the case as a homicide investigation.
So far, police have no suspects and no motives in Westbrook's death.
