Amidst the snow and sleet in downtown Bryan, changes are happening.
Demolition crews started at 7 o'clock this morning at 500 N. Main Street to bring down the building that housed the Twin Cities Mission. The mission has since moved into new digs on 410 South Randolph Street.
For many years, the building on Main Street served the homeless in Bryan and College Station. The building itself has been on Main Street for nearly 100 years. Some residents stopped by and took bricks home with them.
"People wanting to keep a little piece of history," says Ron Crozier with the Twin Cities Mission, "It's been a part of the landscape of downtown Bryan for all these years."
"Knowing, for so many years all the lives we were able to impact, all the paths that we crossed all the friendships that we've made. That facility is no longer here, but the memories will stay," added Crozier.
The clean up and foundation removal will start early next week.

Nothing sad about it. TCM has a wonderful new facility, built in part, with the most overwhelming outpouring of cash from locals from all walks of life. That building was old and worn out from years of use and abuse and make do repair..Looking forward to the redevelopment of the space!
