FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) - A cheering crowd greeted former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin at Fort Hood in Texas Friday.
Palin stopped at Fort Hood as part of her national book-signing tour. Her visit comes a month after a mass shooting at the Army post left 13 dead and scores more wounded.
About 1,250 fans showed up to get signed copies of Palin's book, "Going Rogue." Because of limited space, only about 250 people were allowed in the food court building to see the former Alaska governor.
Palin walked inside, waved, smiled and then sat at a table blocked from view by several black partitions. She didn't make any remarks. She hasn't been speaking to most reporters during her tightly controlled, stay-on-message book tour.

Picked up her book and am very impressed by this fine American. She has an amazing sense of loyalty toward this country. Her ideas about dismantling the good ol boys in government, reducing debt and returning to grassroots ideas, hard work, less government control more state run legislation is just plain common sense. Her strong morals and family values sum up a real prospect for the American people in 2012. Read the book, I support her now more than ever! The Democrats fear her because she is a true threat to their control and power.
"succeed"? Want to correct that? The same thing happens to me whenever I'm critical of someone else -- I immediately do something stupid.
To Pathetic: you are aptly named. Prior to being named the VP candidate Palin had an 85 percent approval rating and the support of both republicans and democrats so she must have been doing something right for the state of Alaska. It was the 15 percent who were in bed with the party of Obama bringing frivolous lawsuits against her inhibiting her ability to govern because she was in court all the time fighting these lawsuits - stupid lawsuits like she was wearing the label of her husband's snowmobile sponsor on her parka. Palin won all of these lawsuits but was in debt of $500,000 to her lawyers. The lawsuits did not stop until she resigned, allowing the state to move forward again under her successor, lt governor Parnell. I guess you are happy that Joe "foot in his mouth" Biden is VP, the guy who said jobs - JOBS is a three letter word. Joe Biden is also the guy who had to drop out of the 1988 presidential race because he got caught plagiarizing his speech from that of a British pol.
