A re-union of sorts for a Caldwell man and a great deal of money!

Wednesday morning the man and his lost money were re-united at the Bryan Police Department.

Bryan Police say Tuesday night December 1st the Caldwell man accidentally threw an envelope away with $1200 in the trash can outside Joe's Food Mart on Highway 21. Surveillance video showed that happening.

The man left the store after buying lottery ticket. A few minutes later he came back looking for the envelope. He never found it and left. The clerk at the store retraced the man's steps , looked in the trash can and found the envelope with money and turned it in.

News 3 showed that surveillance video on air and online hoping the unidentified in that video would see that the money was turned in and would call police to claim it. Wednesday morning he correctly identified how much money was in the envelope and what bank the envelope from. Police say the man was very thankful for everyone involved in getting the money back to him.

I will be buying something at Joe's as soon as I can get out there. That kind of honesty deserves its own reward.
