Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, across the Brazos Valley, this afternoon and evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
AUSTIN -- Governor Rick Perry Friday signed into law a plan meant to help people breathe easier across Texas.
The Texas Clean Air law takes effect immediately. The measure will expand state efforts to support clean air incentive programs.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality must notify local officials of air permit amendments and applications in their areas.
The law also includes extension of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan to 2013.
