ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE -- President Bush isn't giving up on an immigration plan that would grant up to 12 million illegal immigrants a pathway to legal status.
The White House says the president has been using his time on aboard Air Force One to call senators and talk about how the plan can be revived.
The calls were to Colorado Democrat Ken Salazar, Massachusetts Democrat Ted Kennedy and Arizona Republican John Kyl.
The president said before he left Bulgaria Monday that he believes a bill can get finished. Bush says he will be on Capitol Hill Tuesday to lobby for more Republican support.
Senate Democratic leaders have written the president, saying that it is up to him to lean on Republicans to back the measure.
