Eight kilograms of cocaine has been confiscated by authorities after a traffic stop in Montgomery County.

Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office say that they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near Interstate 45 and Calvary Road around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.

A search of the car with a narcotics detection dog led to the discovery of the drugs.

36 year old Desiree Lopez of Dallas was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

The estimated wholesale value of the cocaine is $28,500 per kilogram.
