Old Glory Retired

Flag Day was celebrated Thursday across America and here in the Brazos Valley.

The American Legion, Earl Graham Post 159, along with the Brazos Heritage Society held a flag retirement ceremony at Heritage Park in Bryan.

Worn, tattered and unserviceable American flags were properly removed from service by burning.

Flag retirement ceremonies offer the chance to show respect for the flag, while expressing gratitude to those individuals who protect our country.

The flags that were retired will be replaced with brand new ones.
